Data Security Tips
Waste management & data protection act - Our golden rules
Schedule 1, Principle 7 of the Data Protection Act 1998 states that:
"Appropriate technical and organisational measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data."
We've put together a set of golden rules to help you interpret the above principle.
Rule 1
Prevention of unauthorised or unlawful processing.
One of the biggest security threats in modern business is the unauthorised use of your precious business data. We use security vetted staff to process data destruction.
Rule 2
Apart from the people you employ, information is your key asset and must be safeguarded at all times.
Confidential paper waste lying around your office is an invitation to abuse. We'll provide you with lockable security bins and cabinets to stop confidential waste falling into the wrong hands.
Rule 3
Information is an important asset with real value. Is your data secured?
In addition to destroying paper documents, we have a hard-disk destruction service. Both services are certified upon completion, giving you peace-of-mind.
Rule 4
Destruction of confidential data is just as important as active data.
Have you heard the news stories of confidential documents found on waste tips and landfill sites? We certify our storage, collection and destruction procedures to ensure complete destruction of your data.
